Natures Own Growing System - An Enhanced Growing Process
Natural Organic Products that Work!

PROTOCOL FOR GRASS AND LANDSCAPING

We have done our level best to make BioVam the highest quality product of its kind available anywhere.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE.
A.   INOCULATIONS IN THE FIELD FOR TRANSPLANTING CONTAINER STOCK:

Apply BioVam to uninoculated container-stock at time of planting according to the following dosage rates:

Plant Container Size

Dose of BioVam

One gallon

1 teaspoon

Five gallons

2 teaspoons

14 gallons to a 24" box

3 teaspoons

>24" box containers without limit

4 teaspoons

Place Inoculum in the hole directly under the shrub or tree in order to maximize contact with roots.  If BioVam is applied as a top dressing then water it in immediately.

Do not use pre-plant fertilizers or fertilizers in the hole at time of planting.  Added chemical or organic fertilizers may impair the symbiosis and cause unnecessary delays in development.  We recommend the use of well-composted materials added to the fill soil, but not to exceed 10% by volume, Materials high in fulvic and humic acids are the most advantageous to successful union of BioVam and root.

B.   INOCULATION IN THE FIELD FOR GROUND COVER AND BEDDING PLANTS:
Ground cover and bedding plants are inoculated at a rate of 1 lb. per 100 sq. ft, worked well into the soil.  It can be applied by a mechanical spreader or broadcast by hand at a dosage of one pound per 100 sq. ft.  It is important in any event that the Inoculum comes into contact with roots and that the plants are above the inoculant so roots will grow down through it.   Water as customary.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR GRASS

A.  INOCULATION IN THE FIELD FOR NEW LAWNS:
Apply inoculum by a mechanical spreader over the designated area, after thorough preparation in accordance with accepted practice, where the sod will be laid or the grass seed sown. Then lay the sod or sow the seed. The dosage is 2 lbs ( 1 quart) per 2,000 sq. ft. Water and fertilize as customary. To help spread the BioVam, mix it with two quarts of sand before spreading.

Hydro-seeding: Apply 2 lbs ( 1 quart) of BioVam® per 2,000 sq. ft. Add Biosol 6-1-3  Organic Fertilizer (55 lbs per 2,600 square feet) appropriate for the area to be covered. Add mulch ingredients and water.  While applying, keep the agitator running.  Do not let BioVam inoculant sit in the tank overnight.

B.  APPLICATION TO ESTABLISHED LAWNS:
Aerate with a mechanical core aerator or with a spline aerator. Mix 1 quart of Bio-Vam with 2 quarts of sand and apply to 2,000 square feet of lawn surface. Apply Biosol 6-1-3 (one 55 pound bag covers 2,600 square feet of established lawn or 21 pounds of fertilizer will cover 1,000 square feet.) Water long and deep in order to carry the Mycorrhizae through the thatch and into the roots.

C. FREQUENCY OF USE OF BIOVAM:
Apply annually with Biosol 6-1-3 Organic Fertilizer at a rate of 55 lbs per 2,600 square feet. You can apply BioVam® and the fertilizer at any time for the first treatment of the lawn as long as the ground is not frozen.

D. FERTILIZERS:
Conventional instructions on lawn care advise waiting six to eight weeks before applying fertilizer to a new lawn, whether achieved by sod, seed or sprigs. When you fertilize we recommend annual applications of Biosol 6-1-3 Organic fertilizer.  Organic materials high in fulvic and humic acids are the most advantageous to forming and maintaining the union of Mycorrhizae and roots. Beware of soluble phosphates above 2% as they can turn off the action of BioVam.  You should plan on reducing the amount of fertilizer by 1/3 from what is recommended by the manufacturer.

Just as it does in your garden beds, compost works wonders on lawns. It enhances all the beneficial bacteria, fungi, and other bio-control agents in your soils. We recommend you mulch cut your lawn. See our instructions for Organic Lawn care.

Caution: Refer to approved product list for chemicals and fungicides that are safe to use with BioVam.

E. MISCELLANY:
All recommendations about dosage represent a minimum amount. Increased dosages will add to speed and effectiveness of BioVam's working on the roots of your plants.

Insect control should be achieved by using effective integrated pest control measures (IPM) whenever possible.
