| How to prepare
the turf grass in the vicinity of the Necrotic Ring
before the BioVam®, grass seed, and an appropriate turf
fertilizer* is applied. |
| Step 1:
Use a rake to take up any moss, or any material that is
not part of the turf grass in the area. Get down into
the dirt with the rake. If weeds are present, pull them
out. Rake an area over the entire ring to about one-foot
out from the outer edge of the Necrotic Ring. Keep the
material off other areas of your turf grass by raking it
to the center of the Ring. Bag up the material and
properly dispose of it. Use your rake to fluff up the
exposed dirt in the ring. |
| Step 2:
Pepper 2 to 4 inch deep holes in and through the area
from one foot outside of the outer edge of the Necrotic
Ring all through the Ring - a pitchfork can be used for
this purpose. Wash your tools with bleach water so
you are not spreading the Necrotic Ring fungi around
your property or to other people's property. |
| Application: |
|
Step 3:
Evenly apply a quarter cup of BioVam® to each Necrotic
Ring up to 2 feet in diameter. Evenly sprinkle the
BioVam® over the entire area from one foot outside the
outer edge of the Ring. A drop spreader set on low
numbers, like one or two works great in achieving this
evenly. You can mix the BioVam® with an equal amount of
seed for easier application.
One cup of BioVam can be mixed with
Ľ pound of grass seed to cover 10’ x 10’ areas.
Mix 1 pound of grass seed per quart
of BioVam and apply the BioVam and grass seed mixture to
a 20’ x 20’ area (400 square feet). Use a seed that
matches your existing turf. Use a rake to lightly work
the grass seed into the soil. When it germinates, the
BioVam® will help build up the roots and the grass will
overgrow the entire area. |
| Step 4:
Spread a 1/8 to 1/4-inch layer of fine peat moss over
the seed to help keep the seed and ground moist. |
| Step 5:
Apply an appropriate fertilizer* over the top of the
peat moss. Water the area well to soak (not flood) the
BioVam® into the soil around crown roots and into the
aeration holes to the deeper grass roots. Keep the
treated area moist until the seed germinates and is well
established. Do not allow the area to dry out! A fan
nozzle works well for watering small areas like this. |
| * Appropriate
types of Fertilizers: Note: Use of BioVam® Mycorrhiza
requires that turf fertilizers not accede a phosphorus
percentage greater than 2% by weight. Higher levels
of phosphorus are detrimental to the beneficial
Mycorrhiza fungi. Examples of appropriate fertilizers:
*Biosol 7-2-3, *Ringers All Natural 10-2-6, *Milorganite
6-2-0, *Cottonseed Meal 6-2-1. |
| Annual
Maintenance: |
| Treating your
whole turf with BioVam® Mycorrhiza will greatly lessen
the chance of additional Necrotic Ring damage in you
lawn. BioVam’s® Mycorrhiza sustains the vitality and
vigor of turf grass root systems. As this process takes
effect you are empowering your new and old grass with
greater competitive dominance. |
| We recommend
you start treating your whole lawn with a normal
application of BioVam® Mycorrhiza (one quart per 2,000
square feet) and an appropriate fertilizer* yearly,
starting at the same time you treat your Necrotic Ring(s). |
| Annual
application of BioVam® and organic fertilizers produces
great looking "BioVam® Grown" lawns. |
| The
Bioorganic Process |
|
The BioVam Mycorrhiza will establish
a symbiotic relationship with the existing turf grass
roots and with the sprouting grass seed. As this process
increases, the Mycorrhiza hyphe is also growing and
moving through the soil, breaking down organics,
softening and aerating the soil as it moves. New and
established grass roots will follow this process.
Earthworm populations begin returning aiding in
aeration, water penetration, and organic recycling.
Where once there was an unsightly
scar new grass is thriving, as the grass naturally
overgrows your Necrotic Ring damaged turf. This
regenerating biosphere is also being well fertilized
with the organic fertilizer.
You are now experiencing one of the
benefits of a "BioVam® Grown" lawn! |
